Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website stoneaccountingservices.com and any services provided by CS Accountancy Services, Inc., doing business as Stone Accounting Services ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Site or engaging us for services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Scope of work
We offer professional services including bookkeeping, payroll, tax preparation and planning, and QuickBooks Online setup and cleanup. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and fees for any engagement are described in a written engagement letter or proposal signed by both parties. These Terms supplement, but do not replace, the terms of any signed engagement letter; where the two conflict, the signed engagement letter controls.
2. Information on the Site
Content published on this Site is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute accounting, tax, legal, or other professional advice. Reading the Site does not create a client relationship. A client relationship begins only after we have executed a written engagement letter together.
3. Client responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information needed for us to perform the services.
- Respond promptly to requests for documents, approvals, or clarifications.
- Review and approve filings, returns, and deliverables before they are submitted on your behalf.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of your business records and tax positions.
4. Fees and payment
Fees, payment schedule, accepted payment methods, late-payment consequences, and any retainer or deposit requirements are described in the engagement letter or proposal you sign. Please refer to your signed agreement for the specific payment terms that apply to your engagement. Fees are non-refundable except as described in your signed agreement.
5. Revisions
The number of included revision rounds, the scope of each round, and the rate for additional revisions are specified in the package or scope of work described in your signed engagement letter. Refer to that agreement for what is and is not included.
6. Intellectual property
All content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, and design, is owned by or licensed to Stone Accounting Services and is protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
Work product we deliver under an engagement (such as financial statements, returns, and customized reports) becomes your property upon full payment. Our underlying templates, checklists, working papers, and methodologies remain our property.
7. Confidentiality
We treat all non-public client information as confidential and use it only to perform the engaged services and to meet our legal and professional obligations. We will not disclose confidential information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law, regulation, or court order, or as necessary to use the third-party tools we rely on to deliver our services (such as QuickBooks Online).
8. No guarantee of results
We will perform our services with the professional care and skill expected of a qualified accountant. However, we cannot and do not guarantee specific outcomes, including but not limited to particular tax refunds, audit results, financing decisions, search engine rankings, or visibility on AI-powered platforms. Tax positions, audits, and government processes are outside our control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or our services will not exceed the fees you paid to us for the specific engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Cancellation and refund policy
Cancellation rights, notice periods, refunds, and any wind-down obligations are described in your signed engagement letter or proposal. Please refer to that document for the specific terms that apply to your engagement.
11. Third-party services and links
The Site embeds or links to third-party services such as Calendly, Google Analytics, and Mailchimp. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of those third-party services. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Ventura County, California.
